Privacy Policy
Effective September 5, 2026
Nightshade and Ivory ("we," "us," or "our") is a wedding photography studio based in Arizona. This policy explains, in plain language, what information we collect when you visit our website, send us an inquiry, or use your client portal — and what we do with it. We only collect what we need to talk with you and to photograph your day beautifully.
What we collect
When you send an inquiry: your name, email address, and anything you choose to share — your date or timeframe, location, the service you are interested in, and your message.
When you become a client: the details needed to plan and deliver your wedding (partner names, wedding date, venue, questionnaire answers, signed agreements, invoices and payment records) and your portal login (email and a password we store only in protected form).
When you join our mailing list: your email address, your name, the exact wording you agreed to, the date and time you agreed, where you signed up (website form, client portal, or in person at an event), and the internet address (IP) of the device used — so we can show you gave permission if ever asked.
Automatically: ordinary technical information such as pages viewed, browser type, and approximate location, collected through cookies and similar tools (see below).
How we use it
To reply to your inquiry, check availability, prepare quotes and agreements, take payments, deliver your galleries, and keep you updated about your own booking. These messages are part of working together and are sent to every client.
To send occasional marketing emails — availability, tips, and offers — only if you ticked the mailing-list box or told us in person that you would like them. We never treat an inquiry or a booking as permission to market to you.
To understand how our website is used and to make it better.
Marketing emails & unsubscribing
Joining our mailing list is always optional and never a condition of inquiring or booking. The box is unticked by default. We use email only for this — we do not send marketing text messages.
You can leave at any time: use the unsubscribe link in any marketing email (it works instantly, with no login), turn it off in your client portal, or email us at . Once you unsubscribe we keep your address on a do-not-email list so you are not accidentally added again.
Who we share it with
We never sell or rent your information. We share it only with the service providers who help us run the studio, and only as much as they need:
- Payments: Stripe processes card and bank payments. We never see or store your full card number.
- Email delivery: the services that send our booking emails and, in future, our mailing-list emails.
- Hosting & storage: the platforms that host this website, our database, and your photo galleries.
- Accounting: our bookkeeping software, for invoices and payment records.
We may also disclose information if the law requires it or to protect our rights and safety.
Cookies & analytics
Our website uses cookies that are necessary for it to work (for example, keeping you signed in to your portal). We also use the Meta (Facebook) Pixel, which sets cookies and tells Meta which pages you visited so we can measure our advertising and show relevant ads on Facebook and Instagram. You can limit this in your browser settings and through your Meta ad preferences.
Your choices & your rights
You can ask us at any time to see the information we hold about you, to correct it, or to delete it. Just email and we will respond within 30 days. We may need to keep certain records — such as signed agreements and payment history — for legal, tax, or contractual reasons.
We keep inquiry and client information for as long as we work together and for a reasonable period afterwards. Mailing-list consent records are kept while you are subscribed and, after you unsubscribe, only as proof that we honoured your request.
Children
Our services and mailing list are for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy we will update the effective date above. Significant changes to how we use mailing-list information will be announced by email to subscribers first.
